What is Dasuquin®?
We have combined over ten years of clinical use and research on our joint health supplement Cosequin® with our research in advanced joint health ingredients in developing Dasuquin ®, a cost-effective formulation for dogs, available through your veterinarian.
Dasuquin combines NMX1000®▲ ASU (avocado/soybean unsaponifiables) and decaffeinated tea with Cosequin's FCHG49®▲ glucosamine and TRH122®▲ sodium chondroitin sulfate to provide our most complete joint health brand for dogs.
Dasuquin is a dual synergistic formula: cell culture research has shown that its specific glucosamine hydrochloride and low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate have demonstrated synergy in stimulating cartilage matrix production,1 while ASU also acts synergistically with glucosamine.
What is ASU and how does it work?
ASU is obtained from avocados and soybeans. ASU is a potent ingredient demonstrated to help protect cartilage and support joint function. While working via their own primary mechanisms of action, ASU, glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate together deliver comprehensive joint health support. Our trademarked glucosamine hydrochloride, chondroitin sulfate, and avocado/soybean unsaponifiables together were shown in cell studies to be better than the combination of glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate alone at inhibiting expression of several agents involved in cartilage breakdown. Dasuquin is also available in a formula with MSM (methylsulfonylmethane). Your veterinarian can advise you on which formula is best for your dog. Dasuquin is available in two strengths: Dasuquin for Small to Medium Dogs and Dasuquin for Large Dogs.

Allow 4-6 weeks initially to note a response, though some dogs may respond sooner. If desired, the number of tablets may then be reduced to a maintenance level. Once consistent improvement is noted at the maintenance level, administration may be further reduced to every other day.
The maintenance level can also be used long-term on healthy dogs to help support their joints. An individual dog's needs may vary. Dogs on a maintenance level can be increased to the initial level as needed, e.g., on weekends or other times when they are more active, to provide extra support to the joints.
