Keep on Riding with Cosequin® and Cosamin®

Being a horse owner for almost 50 years, I know the benefit of Cosequin for my horses. My horses become family and I keep them for life, some well into their thirties. This past winter my 23-year old Arabian mare, Pashalita, came down with a swollen ankle and the vet found cartilage breakdown and less comfort in her left ankle and knee.  He said to put her on Cosequin, which I did. She is maintaining well on a daily administration.

A few years back when discomfort started in my joints, my doctor first gave me a prescription anti-inflammatory but I was unable to continue with it. I then used over-the-counter medications which I needed to take all day to stay on my feet without pain. So I decided it was time for me to try Cosamin DS. Not surprisingly, I find that all I really need now is my daily maintenance dose of Cosamin. I don't hesitate to recommend Cosequin/Cosamin to anyone who wants joint health support: man, horse, dog or cat! So thanks to Nutramax, we two seniors are both able to take in a lot more rides before that final sunset.  -Thanks, Liz from Maryland

Thanks for sharing your story. It's wonderful to hear about a horse's personal response to our products and, of course, about your response, too.

Cosequin® and Cosamin®DS contain glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate, ingredients that have been shown to support production of cartilage components and inhibit the breakdown of cartilage. Studies in horses with Cosequin Equine Powder showed an improvement in comfort level with administration.

Individual results with Cosamin DS may vary; however, in published clinical trials of Cosamin DS, study participants, on the average, responded significantly by the time of their first or second clinical evaluation, scheduled at 8-week intervals from the start of the clinical trials. One clinical study conducted in the US on Cosamin DS evaluated study participants that generally had mild to moderate pain of the knee. There was also a clinical study conducted in the US on Cosamin DS with active military personnel who had knee pain.
