New York, NY (October 22, 2024) -

The American Kennel Club (AKC®) is excited to announce that the AKC Diving Dogs Premier Cup Presented by Cosequin® will air on ESPN2. The competition will premiere on Sunday, October 27th at 5pm ET.

This year’s AKC Diving Dogs Premier Cup, held in collaboration with North America Diving Dogs, took place on September 19, 2024, at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in Aurora, CO. Canine athletes from around the country competed in both Distance and Air Retrieve divisions in three different classes – Lap, Elite and Premier – based on their size and season average. Combined scores in Distance and Air Retrieve determined the winners in each class, with the top three in each receiving prize money. The field of competitors includes past national champions, AKC Diving Dog Challenge winners, and world record holders.

“We’re thrilled to bring the AKC Diving Dogs Premier Cup back to ESPN,” said Gina DiNardo, AKC Executive Secretary. “Diving Dogs is such a fun sport, and the excitement from the dogs competing is infectious! We’re sure viewers at home will be at the edge of their seats.”

The broadcast will be hosted by Kelly O’Donnell, including sideline reporting by Arielle Chambers and analysis by Jason Rigler.
